Queensland Arts Council and Soapbox Theatre Productions invite you to audition for:

SOPHIE IS…
Thrown into the car in the middle of the night, Sophie finds herself in a whole new
world.  In the midst of chaos and a dark secret that plagues her family, Sophie chooses her moment to create a newer, better Sophie.  Enter Kate and Gemma, her new best friends who will guide her through the treacherous world of a school yard, who is cool, who is not, what to wear and what to eat…

This dynamic cast of three deliver a multiple character show that is a fast paced and hard hitting
exploration of the taboo subject of eating disorders.  This work hopes to incite a greater understanding amongst young people of the illness anorexia and bulimic while increasing a positive perception of self worth.

Auditions For

• 2 Female Actors (18-30)
• Auditionees are required to hold an Open
  Drivers Licence

Actors to Prepare

• One (1) Comic/Dramatic piece between 2-3
  minutes
• One (1) Monologue from Sophie Is… which will be provided on notification of audition

Rehearsal and Show Dates

Rehearsals: 28^th May – 9^th July

Showcase:  12^th, 13^th, 14^th July

Touring:

Term 3: Darling Downs, Roma, St George, Granite Belt

Term 4: Brisbane, Ipswich, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast
